Yes, it’s May The 4th Be With You day!

Ahhh, good old May.

This month is tricky.

It really is THE litmus test for how your 2018 is going so far and will turn out.

Are you seeing the amount of work you want on the calendar?

Are you getting the engagement you desire on your posts?

Are you doing the videos you promised yourself you would?

By now you’ve either achieved the New Year’s goal to lose that weight… or put more on; You’ve written that book you’ve been talking about for years….or it’s still in rough draft form…in your head; You’ve landed the gigs you set a goal to hit….or you have 7 months left to make it happen.

My friend, this is May.  If your 2018 goals aren’t being accomplished and reached by now then you have some planning and shifting to do.  There’s still time.

May marks the end of the school year if you have kids and equally the end of your ability to work effectively from home time, it is the last month to yourself if your kids are in college and will be returning to say hi and take over your basement soon, it is the final moment of reckoning for your plans in 2018.

Summer is calling.  Can you handle the pressure?

How are the following going for you?

  • Morning Ritual
  • Marketing & Sales efforts
  • Blogs & Videos on a consistent basis
  • Relationships with Past Clients
  • Practice Time on your Speech/Show/Presentation
  • Amount of Time surfing social media/the web
  • Books Read, Podcasts Listened to
  • Money Spent, Money Saved

Sure, I’ve listed a few important things, there are many more.

Want to know what I’ve recommitted to for May?

  • Sleep – as in getting in bed before 10 PM (very tough for night owl me)
  • CRM – I wrote about it last week, it’s very important
  • Finalizing my Album of Original Songs and Art

May is the perfect time to re-evaluate your situation.  Let it be the New Year near mid-year.  Start over, keep doing what works, throw out the bad, and put your nose to the grindstone, because once summer hits, your willingness to work in your office will suffer.

My recommendation is this: Open Your Journal, write how you feel and where you are in terms of mindset.  Once you’ve spilled the beans it’s time to go fix a few things.  Be honest, buck up, take ownership, and get moving.

So make May count.  You know how effective you are the day before a weeklong trip – pretend May is that time before the summer haul of fun – and you will be grateful you did.

May The 4th Be With You
