It is rare to have 3 must-see movies in theaters at the same time, but here are the ones you, if really serious about being in show business or being on stage, need to consider rushing to see:

  1. The Disaster Artist – I saw it a few days after it came out.  I was so knocked out I went the next night.  And then again last weekend.  Yes, James Franco just deservedly won the Golden Globe for Best Actor for his portrayal of the infamous Tommy Wiseau and the true bizarre story of the making of the cult favorite, “The Room”.   Why is this movie important to you?  Because the story is somehow hilarious, heartbreaking, and inspiring all at once, the importance of creating what you want when this business pushes you away, there are few movies I have ever seen that have had such a long-lasting effect on me and equally so relatable.  Disclaimer: It is heavy on language and you will see Franco’s behind for a while.  If anything, we must admire Franco’s dedication and commitment to the part, even starring, writing, and directing a whole scene nearly naked.
  2. The Greatest Showman – Hugh Jackman is a triple threat of all-time.  Singer, Dancer, Actor, this man can do everything, and takes his should have been Oscar winning role as Jean Val Jean in “Les Miserables” to a similar level of greatness in this latest movie.  It also very deservedly just won the Golden Globe for Best Original Song “This Is Me”, a song we can all relate to, and as they’ve said, it’s an “Anthem for Outcasts”.  Why is this movie important to you?  Dream big dreams, chase them, work to collaborate with those around you others may not see gifts in.  This movie has it all, and ends with it all coming back to family, I personally really love that.
  3. Coco – Perhaps the most beautifully animated movie of all-time, this story mixed with unforgettable music, will leave you feeling overwhelmed with the importance of finding your voice, using your voice, and always coming home to family while remembering where you came from.  Few movies touch on genealogy so poignantly while equally evoking the emotions of living fully in the present.  Why is this movie important to you?  Never forget where you came from, but also remember it’s up to you to write your own story, follow your own music, and honor what God gave you. Of all these movies, you need to see “Coco” on the big screen, it is absolutely gorgeous and stunning.
